Lynn Stewart

Hello! My name is Lynn Stewart and I'm a former software developer and data geek. I recently retired after more than thirty years in the corporate world. Now I'm embarking on a second career as a fiction writer. 

The seed for my debut novel, Stay Back!, was planted when I volunteered as an instructor with my local police department's women's self-defense program. Stay Back! is the first in a three-book series that follows the lives of Marina and John Butterfield. Marina is a professional artist who was raped by a former friend. John (a.k.a. Hawk) is a cop with his own ideas of how the world should turn. The aftermath of Marina's rape reveals fissures in what the couple had always felt was a rock-solid marriage.

I hadn't intended Stay Back! to be the first book in a trilogy. My characters had the final say -- they weren't quite ready to be silenced. Thus were born my second and third novels: Back and Forth and Stay Here. 

My husband and I live in Cambridge, Maryland. When I'm not at my desk writing, you'll likely find the two of us pedaling our bikes around the beautiful country roads of Dorchester County, running along the Choptank River, racing our sailboat, or enjoying wine or a local craft beer.
